Nothing ignites my inner dragon more than intellectual bullies who attempt to control their audience into ignoring their ability to create miracles. Move right along, they say.
Recently, listening to the Solved podcast, I thought I’d found a new source of helpful information to consume, but only a few minutes in, reality came crashing down.
I heard Manson and a guest lump Rhonda Byrne and Dr. Joe Dispenza together, and then dismiss both. With that exchange, I realized that listening any further was a waste of time. It’s obvious to me that they don’t even know. They aren’t lying so much as spreading their beliefs as fact, like intellectual bullies.
First of all, they didn’t acknowledge Dispenza as a doctor, but only as an author. Then they made fun of the notion that wishful thinking will bring you what you want.
Yeah, that notion is laughable.
Too bad that’s not what Dispenza is all about, although you can safely characterize Rhonda Byrne’s The Secret as such.
Not Dispenza, though. He’s got the receipts. He’s done the measurements. Scientific proof.
Dispenza says that miracles have become almost mundane.
His clients, students, whatever you want to call them, heal from incurable diseases. People who have been abandoned by the medical system as lost causes.
And this is the critical component that the disparagers miss. Intellectual bullies who can’t claim they’ve assisted in a single miracle. Not one.
It’s not “wishful thinking” when your life is on the line.
It’s serious, dedicated effort to ignore the reality that is facing you, from every direction, from authorities and tangible evidence, and fully embrace a reality that is completely different from the one playing out.
An Unignorable Law
See, the truth of the Law of Attraction is that everyone is already doing it all the time. They are getting exactly what they attract, but most people don’t bother to focus on or control this effort and can’t connect what they get out of life with what they put into it.
Dispezsa helps people realize that what they say they want isn’t exactly what they want. The woman who can’t get pregnant despite wanting to be pregnant “with every cell in her body” discovers that no, the cluster of cells in her brain forming a tumour and disrupting her ability to get pregnant does not agree. In meditation, she discovers a holdout reason. With newfound insight, the tumour disappears and she carries on her way, relieved that she had no idea how wrong she was about what she thought she wanted.
Sometimes the dream is wrong for the dreamer, and the body knows.
To know thyself is the highest form of knowledge, and we simply don’t.
We have intentions and motivations that are unconscious and uninvestigated. Stuck and frustrated, we rarely realize the fault lies within ourselves and the flawed way we approach life.
The problem with all this manifestation and vibration talk isn’t that it’s a dismissible idea, but that when it doesn’t work, it’s your fault. You didn’t focus hard enough, you didn’t hold a high enough emotion, you tried to control and define too many variables, and in doing so, you didn’t leave any room for the universe to make it happen.
When I got to that point, I decided it was time to purchase Dispenza’s meditation program. I wanted my sight back that I’d lost, and that was my goal.
Mistaken Impressions of Simplicity
I completed the sales page with my information. Unfortunately, an error came back indicating that there was an issue with my address. I figured it was a bug. I tried again later to no avail. I contacted customer service, but to no avail. I wrote them another email. No response.
I decided all this interruption was the universe telling me to keep my money.
In truth, recovering my vision was a rollercoaster. The road back to sight wasn’t proving to be immediate, but rather a journey. Luckily, I’d saved all my old prescriptions, but in the end, I decided a stable prescription was better than juggling glasses all the time.
So I moved on to finding other people who are pushing the envelope into the unknown, rather than merely exploring boring, old, safe ideas like the importance of values like Manson. But if that’s what you are into, then for sure, check out the Solved podcast.
Definitely start your introspection and self-discovery by identifying your values. Don’t stop there, though, because so much more empowering information has come to light about who you are and what you are capable of being, doing, and accomplishing.
Including that your values might change, as you realize they were the values of your family, community or society, and for you, that’s well and good for them, but you are cut from a different cloth.
You hear someone claim they can work miracles, and instead of the immediate certainty that they are lying, exaggerating, or pulling your leg, you get curious and ask questions.
When you need a miracle, you remember the guy’s name, you buy his book, and you try his strange little exercises, and you realize that the intellectual bullies who said that manifesting is easy have never actually tried it.
Misguided Assumptions of Value
Intellectual bullies who scoff at the apparent simplicity of meditating have never tried it.
Intellectual bullies who dismiss potentially valuable information without investigation aren’t people I want in my world.
I get it; there are too many rabbit holes and roads to explore, but a baseless rejection based on impression isn’t something I want to know about. What a waste of air to discuss things that you know nothing about and pretend that you’ve done the work to justify your opinion.
Move right along. Don’t listen to Dr. Joe tell you what to do when the medical system throws up their hands. Just take your prognosis and go home. Sucks to be you.
Ya, not me either, not when blindness was on the table, not when cancer was on the table, not when any human told me no. I’ll see about that, because I’ve got all kinds of tools and tricks that you thought were impossible.
I’m human; you’re human. In my world, I use the placebo effect and the biology of belief to ensure that equality reigns, and you have no power over me, my body or my future. It might be impossible for you, but not for me.
Maybe you can do the splits. I can’t. To each our own talents, superpowers, and capabilities. Be sure to separate out the facts from all the other words and sounds that come out of people’s mouths and fill the air as they try to push your beliefs around.
Especially if they can’t stop talking about their status as a best-selling author, multimillionaire, or other source of pride that ensures that no one challenges them anymore. The ego is so repellent, isn’t it?
The truth is that to be widely appealing, you have to stick to the safe, tried-and-true.
Misinformed Efforts at Visibility
To be mentally flexible, you have to let new ideas in, but who does that? Not any adult, with life experiences that cumulate to create the impression that I already know everything I need to know.
I know to stay safely within my boundaries.
I know that my brain will protect my body when I try to push past a previous limit. Signals make me stop for fear of injury, but really, injury is not imminent. I trust what I’ve researched and learned.
I also trust that this information will be mine and mine alone; I simply do not possess the skills nor the talents to break through to anyone.
I am a dismissed miracle, and I know it.
But it’s okay. I cried, and then stopped.
Now, off to stretch my hamstrings because Elastaboy is helping me add the splits to my list. Be warned, it does look like he’s made of plasticine, and I want to feel that way too.
I don’t want to feel ignored, dismissed, or like I need your approval to matter, and so, that’s that.
This is my last post. I no longer need to share, to try to be seen or heard. I accept the invisibility I wanted as a child.
Wishes granted, thank you.
A Final Curtsy
With my 53rd birthday today and the accompanying life review, I decided to quit. I’m off to make better choices with my life, like keeping it to myself. It’s a more peaceful way to live.
There never was anything to see here. Move right along. Pretty soon, it will all return to whiteness, pixels, and a nice ol’ 404 Not Found.
Like anyone ever looked.
